The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Class 10th and 12th Board Results for 2025, expected between May 1 and May 10, 2025. Over 42 lakh students, including 24.12 lakh from Class 10 and 17.88 lakh from Class 12, participated in exams held from February 15 to April 4, 2025. Students can access their provisional marksheets online. However, CBSE will not release an official toppers list to curb unhealthy competition. Here’s how to check results, pass percentages, and more.

How to Check Your Results

Students can access their results through multiple platforms to avoid website congestion:

  • Visit results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in. Click “CBSE Class 10 Result 2025” or “CBSE Class 12 Result 2025,” enter roll number, date of birth, school number, and admit card ID, then submit to download the marksheet.
  • Use digilocker.gov.in with roll number and a 6-digit school PIN to access digital marksheets.
  • Send an SMS to 7738299899 in the format: “cbse10 ” or “cbse12 ” for results via text.
  • For name-wise access, retrieve your roll number at cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/finder.html using name, parents’ names, school code, and date of birth.

Pass Percentage and Performance

In 2024, Class 10 recorded a pass percentage of 93.60%, and Class 12 achieved 87.98%, with girls outperforming boys. For 2025, Class 10 is expected to exceed 93% due to moderate question papers, while Class 12 may hover around 88%. Trivandrum led regions in 2024 with 99.75% for Class 10 and high performance for Class 12. A minimum of 33% per subject (including internal assessments) is required to pass. Over 47,983 Class 10 students scored above 95% in 2024, and similar trends are anticipated for 2025.

No Official Toppers List

CBSE will not release a toppers list for 2025, continuing its policy since 2022 to reduce stress and unhealthy competition. Instead, merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% of students per subject. Unofficial reports from 2024 highlighted students like Divya Namdev, who scored 100% in Class 10. Students scoring above 90% can submit details to platforms like collegedekho.com for inclusion in unofficial lists.
